Dear Parents,
We have been learning about families and celebrations from England, as well as other countries and cultures. On Friday, children will be exploring their own cultures as a special class project.
We are excited to announce that on Friday, 25th October, we will be celebrating Cultural Day at Wellington Primary! This special day will give us the opportunity to showcase and honour the incredible diversity within our school. As part of our celebrations, we will also be highlighting Black History Month. This is a wonderful chance for children to learn about the remarkable contributions of Black individuals and communities throughout history. The day will be filled with meaningful discussions and reflections, celebrating both unity and diversity.
On Cultural Day, all children are asked to come to school wearing either their traditional cultural dress or the colours of their home country’s flag. This will be an important part of the celebration, and we encourage everyone to participate and share in this unique experience. Throughout the day, children will engage in a variety of creative activities that celebrate the richness of different cultures. These will include making artwork that reflects their identities, listening to music from around the world, learning words from different languages, and exploring the diversity that makes our school such a vibrant community.
We are looking forward to a day of learning, sharing, and celebrating together. Thank you for your continued support in making our school such a rich and diverse place to work and learn!
